We document the journey of the Team through our blog - Path to the Pokémon Peak. This gives the children and their families a sense of accomplishment and proud recognition for their achievements.
As we gear up for the 2024 Pokémon World Championships in Hawaii, Team Raptor is on a mission to make dreams a reality. With one Junior and one Senior already qualified, and three more on track, we're poised to make Queensland proud on the global stage.
But we can't do it alone. Our Story
Each of our Junior competitors, aged 6-11 years old, and Senior competitors, aged 12-16 years old, initially engaged in casual play of the Pokémon TCG at their local gaming stores. As their proficiency and enthusiasm advanced, they sought greater challenges. With the relaxation of COVID restrictions, organized play events became available, providing them with exposure to the competitive landscape. This exposure gradually led them to regional and international competitions, driven by their desire to test their skills against more advanced opponents. Through this shared passion for the game, Team Raptor was born with Coach Edin at the helm, uniting these aspiring champions under a common banner.
Our Masters aged 17 and above are amazing mentors for our younger players, they play a crucial role in nurturing and supporting the younger players within the team. As mentors and guides, they offer a wealth of experience, knowledge, and encouragement to help the junior competitors navigate the complexities of competitive play.
Coach Edin plays a pivotal role in leading Team Raptor to success, both on and off the battle arena. With a wealth of knowledge and experience in competitive Pokémon TCG gameplay, Coach Edin serves as a beacon of inspiration and guidance for every team member. Coach Edin's strategic expertise and tactical acumen help formulate winning game plans, adapt strategies on the fly, and capitalize on opponents' weaknesses. Through meticulous analysis and tailored training sessions, Coach Edin empowers each player to maximize their strengths and overcome challenges with confidence. Coach Edin fosters a culture of unity, resilience, and mutual support within the team. Through motivational pep talks, constructive feedback, and team-building exercises, Coach Edin instils a sense of camaraderie and determination that transcends individual accomplishments.
Under Coach Edin's leadership, Team Raptor not only achieves success in competition but also cultivates a strong sense of community, sportsmanship, and personal growth that extends far beyond the confines of the tournament arena.
