Community and National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Programs
At Raptor Games, have created a welcoming social space specifically designed for neurodiverse individuals, offering a safe environment where they can escape the challenges of isolation and misunderstanding. In this space, they are encouraged to engage with and explore their unique interests, all while receiving understanding and support from a community that values their individuality.
We offer vibrant social sessions in a fully inclusive, sensory-friendly environment designed to provide a calm and comfortable space where participants can engage in their favorite activities. The focus of our sessions is around the special interest of gaming in its many forms, from tabletop role-playing games (like Dungeons & Dragons), to board games, Lego building, collectables, Pokémon, Warhammer painting and playing.
Our sessions are led by peer support workers who are passionate about creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere. These facilitators help guide the activities, ensuring everyone feels supported, included, and encouraged to participate in a way that suits their comfort level.
This is a space where individuals can truly be themselves—whether that means diving into a favorite game, sharing their latest collection, or simply enjoying a relaxed conversation with like-minded people. We prioritize making everyone feel valued, respected, and safe. Our community embraces all identities, and we are committed to ensuring that each person who joins us feels welcomed, understood, and free to express their unique self. It's all about connection, fun, and creating lasting friendships in an environment that is as diverse and dynamic as the people who come to enjoy it.
Our Learn to Play and Coaching Sessions offer personalised instruction tailored to individual needs, allowing participants to build confidence and proficiency in game rules and mechanics at their own pace. These one-on-one and group sessions serve as a solid foundation for participants to navigate the social landscape with ease.
Additionally, our After School and School Holiday Programs are designed to introduce participants gradually to group environments and supervised interactions. These structured programs provide a nurturing space for individuals to develop essential social skills such as communication, cooperation, and teamwork while forming meaningful connections with their peers. As participants progress, they have the opportunity to engage in simulated Tournament Play, where they can showcase their skills in a friendly and inclusive environment. These tournaments not only encourage healthy competition but also promote collaboration, negotiation, sportsmanship, and mutual respect among participants. All significant aspects of building strong socialisation skills.
Our Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) sessions offers substantial benefits aligned with NDIS goals by fostering social skills, creativity, and emotional development. The game’s collaborative nature helps players practice communication, teamwork, and problem-solving in a supportive setting. Through role-playing, participants improve empathy and perspective-taking, while the challenges presented enhance resilience, critical thinking, and self-confidence. Regular sessions add routine and structure, and the physical elements like dice-rolling support motor skills. Overall, D&D provides a safe, imaginative space for individuals of all abilities to build valuable skills, contributing to their social and personal growth.
Through our programs, participants benefit from enhanced socialisation and a sense of belonging within the community. We strive to increase access to these valuable services, empowering individuals of all abilities to actively participate in their communities and achieve their full potential.
Our services, events, activities, and workshops contribute towards helping participants in their Capacity Building Increased Social and Community Participation . Our invoices will reflect the correct support item numbers to comply with claims for Capacity Building.
Join us at Raptor Games as we embark on a journey of inclusivity, empowerment, and fun!
Our social space is not a form of gaming therapy nor is it a therapeutic program. Rather, it is a supportive and inclusive community where neurodiverse individuals can freely connect with others who share similar interests, fostering a sense of belonging and mutual understanding. While some participants may enjoy gaming as part of their hobbies, the focus here is not on therapy or treatment. Instead, we provide a low-pressure, judgment-free environment where each person is empowered to explore and engage with their passions—whether that's gaming, art, music, technology, or any other specialized interest—without the expectation of therapeutic outcomes. Our goal is to create a space that celebrates individuality, reduces social isolation, and helps participants feel seen and supported in a way that respects their unique needs and experiences.
